Terms of service

These terms govern use of the web portal and the “Express Checkout” service that connects Shopify stores with Vipps/MobilePay login and faster checkout in Shopify Checkout. By creating an account or using the service you accept the terms.

1. The service

Express Checkout is a software service (SaaS) that lets online stores offer Vipps or MobilePay login buttons and automatic population of customer information in Shopify Checkout via cart/checkout links.

We provide tools and integrations; each store still owns the relationship with its end customers and is responsible for its own use of Shopify, Vipps/MobilePay and marketing.

2. Contracting party and contact

The service is provided by Merchant Group AS, organisation number 931 966 022, Bryggen 3, 5003 Bergen, Norway. Contact: support@merchant.no, phone +47 98 18 08 85.

You must be of legal age and have authority to enter into an agreement on behalf of the business you register.

3. Account and acceptable use

You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for activity that occurs through your account.

You must not attempt to bypass security measures, harm the service or other users, or use the service in violation of applicable law (including privacy and marketing rules).

4. Price, subscription and payment

Subscriptions and payment for the service are handled via Stripe in line with pricing information shown in the portal at the time of purchase.

Non-payment or misuse may lead to suspension or termination of access according to the Stripe flow and our billing rules in the portal.

5. Store data and third parties

To deliver the service we process data you enter about the store (e.g. Shopify domain, technical keys and status) and logs related to events in the checkout flow. See the privacy policy for details.

Integrations with Shopify, Vipps/MobilePay, Supabase, Stripe and other vendors are also governed by their terms; you are responsible for meeting requirements imposed on you as a merchant there.

6. Availability, changes and liability

We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. The service is provided on an “as is” business basis, subject to mandatory consumer law where applicable.

We may change functionality or terms with reasonable notice. Material changes are communicated in the portal or by email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance unless mandatory law says otherwise.

Our liability is limited to direct loss and, in aggregate, capped at what you have paid us for the service in the last twelve (12) months, except in cases of gross negligence or intent or where mandatory law provides otherwise.

7. Termination

You may cancel your subscription using the features offered in the portal and Stripe where relevant. We may terminate or close an account in case of material breach or unlawful use.

On termination, data is deleted or anonymised in line with this privacy policy and technical possibilities, except where we must retain data by law.

8. Governing law and venue

The agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Venue is Bergen, Norway, unless mandatory consumer rules require otherwise.
